Before the pandemic started And this airport is connected with the major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, etc However, January to March is considered as the best time to visit Andamans A tourism festival is organized every year in January in Andamans That's why the place is more crowded in January We are allowed to stay out during layover hours because we need to check-in again for our flight from that city to Port Blair Calcutta was my city of transit and I had reached there in the evening. So I went out and spent that night in Calcutta You may reach Port Blair either on day 1 itself or early morning the next day, depending upon your layover time You may not be able to get Ferry tickets in your desired time slot, especially during the peak season Your trip will be more smooth if you book the ferry tickets in advance British Government used this Jail to imprison the freedom fighters of India which is conducted everyday in Cellular Jail Corbyn's Cove beach is close to the main market of Port Blair This beach is little more crowded and the water is less clear than other beaches of Andamans Still, you will be mesmerized by the view of the ocean After visiting these two places, if you still have time left in your hands then you can visit other places in Port Blair This place is famous for bird watching If you love jungles and bird watching, you can go and visit this place There are a couple of Museums in Port Blair You can get the view of airport runway from Joggers park As this park lies in heights, you can get the view of certain part of Port Blair more clearly We will be travelling to Havelock Islands from Port Blair on Ferry We can find either beach resorts or other normal hotels in Havelock That's why its very peaceful, clean and secluded After you've checked in to your hotel, you can chill around the private beach of the resort The sunset at this beach is amazing We can find lots of tea/snacks stalls at Radhanagar Beach You will have a good time having tea/snacks at those stalls It felt little scary initially If you don't want to go inside the water but don't want to miss out the marine life either We can see marine life very clearly through those glasses I spent the rest of the day at the private beach of my hotel Bioluminescence is a biochemical process in which certain living organisms of ocean emit light when we touch them We cannot see bioluminescence at every ocean Experiencing Bioluminescence was one of my main reasons to go to Andamans There are two people on each boat We have to follow the guide The surrounding is totally dark The guide uses a torchlight to guide himself and we follow him Beachside candle light dinners are available in Havelock After visiting Bharatpur beach in Neil Island for a while We can find rocky beaches at Neil Island The place was always windy High tides are expected at this place Please confirm with the locals about the tide levels before going to the Natural Bridge After returning back from Natural Bridge Now, as we've returned back to Port Blair, you might be thinking that the trip might have come to an end I'll save that for later As we had spent just one day in Port Blair and there are lots of things that we can do here Almost all the famous islands of Andamans are connected to Port Blair And, after returning back to Port Blair from Neil Island on day 6 We can find the ruins of colonization time at Ross Island Like I said earlier We will be doing that In Northbay Islands Basically , we can do Scuba Diving in 3 different places in Andamans One is Elephant Beach at Havelock The next one is Bharatpur beach at Neil Island Elephant Beach is usually very crowded And so many other sea activities are played at this place That's why, the clarity of water may not be that good in Elephant Beach Since we are doing something as scary as scuba diving The next place is Bharatpur Beach of Neil Island Corals are the specialty of Neil Islands While at Northbay Islands, the water is also clear And we can see fishes and corals both We are given training for about 15 to 20 minutes at the edge of the ocean Where we are taught about the breathing technique and hand gestures If you don't want to go for actual Scuba diving after your training session, Even though you did the training session only You can click pictures in that scuba diving suit and get an idea of what scuba diving feels like Each Scuba diver is guided by the Master diver I was scared like anything I was like a dead body until I reached the lowest depth I didn't know how much deep we were going And after I reached the deepest level, I could see the marine life After seeing all this, I felt like I was back to life You feel like you are a different person after you do scuba diving And like this, by the end of day 6, we do all sorts of adventure And in the evening, we can go to Marina Park Area We can find street food at that place in the evening You can go to Museums skeleton of a gigantic blue whale While on the other part of the Museum, Another museum is Zonal Anthropological Museum You can again go to Marina Park in the evening It feels really nice to stroll around the ocean side in the evening Like this, we can end our 7 day trip to Andamans I would like to give you some tips Another useful tip is We can hire a scooter for INR 400-500 per day for local commute We have to pay for the fuel by ourselves This will drastically reduce our local commute expenses And the third tip, which is useful every time we travel is The main areas of expenses are flight cost, hotels, activities and food If you are finding INR 3000-4000 expensive then let me tell you But we have to pay 5-10 times more than this, if we are to go to Maldives to get the similar experience But we can find budget hotels as well in Andamans We can get backpackers hostels We can get rooms in INR 1000-1500 However, staying in beachside resorts will give you the best experience in Andamans Food cost is totally upto you Sea food is more expensive Lobsters are the most expensive ones Then crabs Shrimps Fishes Price of seafood is in this order If you are travelling to the beaches, you must have sea food at any cost Food, other than the exotic sea food, is not expensive at all
