Already, did that. Did. The 1250 RS last year oh, that. New. S1000xr. And, on. The other side of it is my 900. XR that I bought just, over two months ago but. Look at the similarities. The, lines, in, both. Bikes. Very. Similar, with, this XR series. This. One that I'm taking out today has, the carbon fiber options, you can see carbon on the, rear fender front, fetch on, the side panel. But, this is the I, don't, care for this ice gray I would if I were to get this I would get the red, but. Everything. Else a new frame and your swing arm. Engine. Retuned. Updated. And. Now. Integrated. Luggage. The. Electronic. Dynamic. Esa, is now standard. On this this year too and also, look at this, no. Rear, taillight. What. Do you mean well. You got one here, but. If you come over here, to, the RR, again. The. Tail light is integrated, into the. Turn signal, so it's just like the RR, so. If you do this. See. When. I press the brake, yeah. That okay let's get into all the changes alright guys I hope you guys come along and enjoy, the. Ride. Let's start to spread boyo. Hi, guys nothing, to prove here today's, a beautiful day because any day one could be out and about on two wheels is, a beautiful. Day and today, I am out on, the BMW. S1000xr. Updated. This year what's, updated, mainly. The. Motor got some updates where, they retuned. It where. The manifold, profiles, in the and the camshaft. Profiles. Were. Updated, to give it more, torque lower, to broaden, that torque rev. Range in the rev range basically. Did. I notice it. If. I didn't, know it no I wouldn't have noticed but since I do know what to look for yeah I noticed it a little bit, also. New frame, new. Swing arm, new. Cornering, lights standard. The ESA, suspension. Is now standard, the, six and a half inch, TFT is, now, standard. On this, many. Many many other updates, with this thing and this new seat.

That Kind of cups. The, rear end, I've. Never been on a bike like this before, that has done this it's kind of interesting, actually, alright, now. Let's. Go ahead and get into some numbers here with this bad boy, let. Me walk around here and the, right away let's get into the color of this I don't. Really care for this ice gray, I do like the red though I think I would get the red. But. You'll notice right away this has the this. Is the M on it so. You have carbon, rear, fender, carbon. Side, panel, with the XR, etched not, etched but on there and then also the front fender. Nice. Touches, there I do like, that let's. Get into the motor shall, we, say. Motor same. Power same, everything I'll put, the numbers up there but. Now made, it to this. Transmission. Well. I like. The quick shifter I wished. The 900, XR, quick shifter, was as good, as the, 1000x. Are quickshifter. Let's. Take a look how does this feel on the road. Alright. The engine. Yeah. It, does, have a little bit more torque down I'll give you that. To the point to where it's. Would. I turn it up for it and I don't. Think so. Now, this transmission. Loving, that transmission, you know that quick shifter it is awesome. Much, much much better than on, my ex I. Definitely. Would trade. For, that if she said what about their pictures. BMW. Why couldn't she have made put. This quick shifter on the 900, I thought that. Would be cool. That, would be awesome so. This, this, powertrain, it is improved, the, engine is improved, transmissions. Although. The highest, years, at. Sea. Right now I'm buzzing, around and sixth year and, it's Genesis, below 3 grand and. Tork just isn't there I did that on the s1000rr. It would have pulled more that's. Why I want the shift cam motor and this, bike. Yeah, even with this bottle on isn't down, for this. You. Can ride this bike sporty, if you want to. You, can crash it and it likes it that's. Why this power trend is getting two thumbs up from gaming.

Guys now let's get, into the rest of this bike what's change let's take a look at this chassis, shall we this. All new frame. New. Swing, arm I do, like, how they really, set, the undertone. Of this. Muffler. It's, it seems, smaller, and the, note also. Seems. To be a little bit less, a little. Bit more. Muffled, but, in a good way. Actually. What's. Putting. The front wheel to the ground these marzo, keys with this dynamic ESA, suspension, if you, get the pro they have updated the, profiles, of that I'll put the chart up and, if, you get the pro version it just broadens, that, profile. Of that, basically. Of. The dynamic, electronic, dampening, is what it's doing did. I notice that now because this isn't the pro this, is the normal, and. So I had on a normal dynamic, ESA. It's. Pretty good I liked it it was good I think I would like to try the pro though if I bought this I would want the pro. What's. Mounted. To. Those marzo, keys yeah. The, haze BMW. Same brakes that you're gonna find out in the s1000rr. Very. Very good brakes guys you know I am a brake. Fanatic. And. These. Are better than the Brembo, MDOT, 4.32, s I would. Say these are right on par with the MDOT fifties, I would. Just say that MDOT. 50 is just the m50. Right. There are they the style emo level no that's on a whole nother level with, especially if you get the Brembo master cylinder net but. They're, right they're very, good brakes and the rear two, pistons on the rear. Good. Feel good feedback. It was a little more pressure than I wanted to apply for, a. Sport. Touring with a lean towards sport but it was good the. 1290. GTD rear brake. Was. Worse. This, was better than that at least because. Why am i mentioning that that's the competition let's be honest when, you go into sport touring with a heavy lean towards sport two bikes come to mind this one and the GT. Let's. Just be upfront and honest with that one now, how how, is this all-new chassis how. Does this translate, to feel on the street let's take a look. But. This chassis. Is just, so. Refined. I do, feel. This new frame, it. Is much much better it's not so, edgy. It's more relaxed. Or a sport tourer that. Was my one complain about the previous gen is it's just a way to edgy, now. It's not, so edgy. There, now I'm shoot you kicking that up over my head. We, took video I'll leave it leave the wind screaming down. But. As. Far as breaks, oh, yeah. I. I. Do like, the rear and. It's. Trying to get up front, oh yeah. It's. Beautiful to these speed bumps it. Feels, pretty good. Don't. Want to scare this poor bicyclist. There I could feel the pull of that torque down low a little more than the previous gen but. I gotta compare apples to have will soon be, quite honest with units. A little. Bit, there's, a work trading up nah that's why sex always raining off. Now, coming. Up on these speed. Bumps here. We go. Okay. Okay well, I haven't done an enemy. So. Let's, just drop it the road there see, if I can get it to go to load before we hit the next set oh it's. Much better, yeah. In. Road now, this is what I like you can change the suspension, and different from the fuel mapping you. See what I did there with this let's. Go back to dynamic, there, if in a corner I'm changing the suspension. Yeah, you can do that out of being Billy. Should. You know. There. Were guys cutting the grass here. So little be careful. They still here no, they're gone okay. So, overall. This, this, chassis two thumbs up, no problem. Is it an improvement from the previous gen oh yeah definitely. If. You guys are looking for a less. Edgy ride, than. The previous gen then yeah, switch. To this you'll. Notice it take one of these out for a ride you'll notice though it's not so edgy, it's not so rough and, this is a refinement, that. The. Previous gen gen, was not refined it was edgy, aggressive, this. Is, more, of what, I call. In. The BMW family. Really. To be quite honest with. Alright, guys now let's continue, on with the rest of this bike as we come to the back here, take.

A Look at this. Integrated. Case holders, you do not have to, add. Racks. No. This. Is part of the weight savings, it is, about 2 kilos so if, you, have to add, this. Though, the center stand. Luggage. Wheels. And. A, number of other accessories. BMW. Saying you're saving about 10 kilos. So. With this integration, here and as I showed in the intro, you come around here yeah, it's, missing. The. Tail lights are integrated, into the turn signals. It. Has the top rack already ready. For you, yeah. I'm looking at this chain guard this whole thing is integrated, with the. Fender. I'm, liking that and the look of that carbon fiber now. Coming up to the 840. Mils off the ground this seat height is 840. You, can get the lowered version, of this and we'll go down to 790. Now. Ergonomically. Though how, does this thing feel, I can. Flat foot this, now the. Previous gen I couldn't, now, I can, the. Seat feels kind of odd with my feet on the ground and. But. Once you pull your feet up onto the pegs it feels, just perfect. And. Also at highway speeds, with the windscreen, down like this it's hitting me the wind is hitting me right at my eyes and, I'm 5 foot 10 176. Centimeters, now. With the windscreen, up it's kicking it over my head and that's, doing highway speeds I'm doing I was doing 130, 140, kilometres per hour so 70 80 miles an hour it's kicking it over my head which. Was great and. The. Mirrors work just fine now. Coming up here to the tank. 20. Liters that's. Kind of on par for a sport, touring with the lean towards sport the. 1290, GT is 23. Liters I think it is yeah so a little bit more. And. This. Is new also since we're right here with a tip with, the the tank, here you. Can put in credit cards you know your passes, for total rolls and stuff like this this is about 226 kilos, how. Does this way translate. To, the street in town, manners. Now. The in, town manners, are. Much. Improved. As. Over. The previous gen, although. I do like, the 1290. GT, in tongue manners a little, bit better than this one because. The fueling isn't, as spot-on. KTM. Nailed it with the 1290, GT the. 2020, gen, that. With the feeling. And. Also the suspension. It's. Just a little bit better. But, here. With. This new frame and swingarm. Even. In dynamic, mode, it's. Comfortable, I can do this all day at the speed no problem. Now. We're gonna check the mapping, here in dynamic, mode this is what I want to do let's. Go drop all the way down to 2 and at 30. All, right now see, I'm trying to fair, the. On/off is a little, bit snatchy. And. That's let's let's let's go to. The. Road. That's, a little better, not. As snatching, in the road mode but it's still there. The. Quick shifter you can use. Does. Not matter the speed you, can go down, down. There. Was a little bit of a a wag, a little, boom but. Yeah. There, there's fourth betters fifth there, six let's. Go back down five. Four, three. Good. Job with a quick shifter so the, in town manners. Yeah. You getting two thumbs up yeah why not boom boom. Let's. Go up to the handlebar, here, standard. Controls, there, it's, black now yeah liking, it this has the SOS, emergency call. And. Which. Is now standard. This year on this now XR, should have been last year the year before in my humble opinion, yeah. The six and a half inch, TFT. Liking. It but what do I like most about it. Here. We go yeah. You. Can do the. Sports screen where, it's doing the dynamic, traction control, telling you levels and also your braking, and meters squared and also. Your lean, angle there, and this will download. To the BMW connected. App. All. This information. All you have to do is open up the app and then, minimize. It on your phone and boom it's connected, and then, it will tell you the speed limit sign here will come up there.

I Don't have it connected well I don't have this bike connected to my BMW app, and, also you won't see it there. But. That's our standard TFT. Thank. You for giving us the standard TFT, finally, BMW. In the base price now, great. Loving, it. Overall. Now. You guys see me thinking, there. Do. I regret buying, my, F, 900. XR vs., this, this year that's. A valid question. No, I don't think so I would. Regret, have regretted. It if they had put the shift cam motor in here this year then. I think I would have wanted this because. The. S1000rr. With, that new shift cam motor has a little, more torque down low in. The lower rpm, range, than this it is a little more responsive. And you can feel that difference. I did, that review, a, little. While ago with that shift camera posted, up there. Loving, that power. Band, and if BMW. If you put that motor in this bike next, year, which, I hope you do and the. Rumor mill is saying, that you probably will, but. You're saying this year oh no no no it doesn't need it this motor is enough and and I agree with you BMW, this motor is enough. But. What's going to get guys, to, switch to trade up today, putting. That shift cam motor in here because, BMW, say I it's it's just you know it's not needed on a machine that's not going to rev to. Those limits, and give you that kind of power, I know. But whenever you can give us more power we're, gonna want it. So. Do. I regret buying my 900, XR two, and a half months ago instead. Of waiting for this no I don't I. Do. Like the front ESA suspension, on this though. Next. Year though, if. BMW. You put the shift cam motor in here yeah. I'll. Be trading up for this then. I'll. Hang on to my XR for at least another year. My. 900, XR all, right guys overall. If you, have the, first gen whether it's a 2014. 15 16 17 18 or 19. Put. The bar ends in it, is. It, worth upgrading yeah. That's, if. You, optioned. For the ESA then probably not and if, you've toned down the bar ends the the the. Handlebar. Vibration. Do. You notice the vibration, difference yes it's noticeable, I would, if I had to guess about 75%. Less, it's. Still there though. What. Else I do, like, this seat and. The. Riding position and, it's lower you. Don't feel so on top, of the bike like the previous gen this gen you feel more in the bike it's very interesting. How, they. Have changed it with this frame and the seat in, the riding position seems, to be more subdued, more, relaxed. So. For, you those of you who have the existing, the previous gen 1000. XR go. Down to your dealership and sit on it and see and feel for yourself and take one for a test drive would be the best thing and then. You make that decision right, now I'll, be neutral, on that and as far as recommending, to. Upgrade or not. If. They said the shift cam motor and I'd say oh yeah no. But it doesn't so let, you guys decide, alright. Guys I hope you've enjoyed this review as always guys ride.
