hello my good people and welcome back my name is john and this is my beautiful wife alexandra if for some reason we led you to believe that we were all about posh hotels and fancy dinner parties then you couldn't be more mistaken because this weekend is all about nature we are heading up to explore zhiriz which is the most beautiful natural reserve in portugal so if you enjoy caravanning campsites and most of all if you're a nature lover then stick around because i bet you're gonna love this [Music] video [Music] good morning good morning good morning to you good morning good morning good morning to you good morning youtube good morning alexandra say hello to our youtube fans buenos dias comes down so that was a very nice sleep at the edmida camping we do however have a church very nearby that rings their bell every hour fingers every hour so it started at six in the morning to make sure you remember at six in the morning time to get up and i'm not sure if it's every half hour and quarter hour but i'll i'll know now so right now i'm going to put on the kettle make some tea and make some coffee and and breakfast for me and the misses uh we haven't really decided where we're going yet because i know it's dark in here from the light there you go one right two lights okay so we haven't really decided what we're going to do yet because we were waiting to see how our muscles would recuperate uh from yesterday and the day before his hike because mine are actually quite sore to be honest uh very very sore and the ankles sore ankles uh sore muscles here and i think i'm good to go let's just see how alexandra feels after how her breakfast and then we will communicate where we are going next so stick around this could be a great day or it could actually be a going back home day we'll decide see okay here we go here we go almost lost it okay so this is the church bell first it does this tune so it's another hour now it's gonna count the hours hold on one one two three four five six seven [Music] eight nine okay so there you have it nine in the morning and actually does that tune also every single half hour okay so it started at six o'clock in the morning uh it's not really really really audible but you can hear it we're in the van um i'm not sure how far away the church is but i'm guessing it's not really very far away um and it finishes at ten o'clock the last um sound the last chair the churn um signal bell signal how do you say that it doesn't really matter is it 10 at night okay so when you come to this camping which i would recommend it's a very nice camping i would probably i would probably come back to this one and possibly not the other one well it all depends where you are in george actually because um yeah i think sometimes it might not be worth it doing too many kilometers just to go to one place or the other because the other one was also also great but if you don't have a motorhome if you're camping sort of like on a motorcycles there are loads of motorcycles here um many of them many of them have already left they have the those wooden um of tents like i showed you yesterday and so i'm guessing maybe they're gonna be much more comfortable uh so i think it's actually a great place to spend the night so that was the bells just so you know what to count on if you come here it's actually quite quite funny quite amusing but if you're a light sleeper and you don't want to be disturbed at six o'clock in the morning yeah you better choose another place getting ready to leave just filling up the caravan with the water and we've already emptied the grey water so once again like the campsite before it does not have a dedicated service area for caravan okay you've got a spot here where you put the grey waters uh over there i mean and then here where you fill up the water tank and you have to and there's another little place for you to take the cassette so it's also scattered around um a bit like the other one but it's all very doable no problem whatsoever this park cost us 22 euros okay so it was for the park people and the electricity i know i said water on the last part but i meant electricity so that's almost 15 euros this one was 22. of course it's it's a fantastic place it's all uh very clean very organized this campsite is actually from 2012 okay because i asked the owner because it all seemed raining can you switch off the water please thank you for watching thank you um it's all very new and it's all very well maintained and very very nicely clean um the toilets did have the toilet paper although the toilet paper was at the entrance i could never really understand that because i mean how much how when do you know how much bog roll you're actually gonna need to wipe your backside after you take a poop right um but okay you do and the entrance have toilet paper and um you have a soap to wash your hands uh properly at the laboratories and the other campsite you didn't have any of that you'd have to use your own stuff hence the difference of seven euros in between the both so i mean you can just decide which ones you prefer um the other one is a more raw experience this is more more how should i say it how do you like say it baby more not luxurious more it's sort of more organized more clean it's a different different place you know use your own objectives so right now we're going to go down to the villa of jerez we're going to get something to eat before we choose the track we're going to do today so see in a second [Music] we came to visit the villa the village of jerez thankfully there was there's a huge park here because you're having difficulty finding a park but it seems like some um commission of parties oh okay well whatever so we managed to to find this parking here just almost on the end of the villa which is quite normal and so now we're going to see if we can go to that supermarket over there get something to eat for later on for dinner so we're going to be having lunch here at the capella restaurant lures cabela my wife read on a blog where she's taking the information for this um for this this tour that we're doing this checking for this public space and there's a great steak to eat here which is a steak minyotu so i'm gonna record that for you foodies uh let's see what it's all about here we go let's see what this steak tastes like okay so basically it's a steak with some smoked ham an egg and this sauce is gravy the steak has been grilled not bad not bad at all [Music] bon appetit whilst i did start my meal with water natural spring water after two or three bites of this marvelous steak i just had to go with a homemade beer that these guys make here so it's actually their beer this is a honey ale it's actually delicious so good not even my wife could resist that was a very nice lunch to set us back about 30 euros which was quite a bargain to be honest the restaurant had loads of chip advisor what you call them certificates on the wall so it's a has to be good right very very nice so now we're going to explore the little village of jerez and see what there is here to see [Music] [Music] [Music] so this walk actually starts here at this map here to reach this place you have to go towards the little village of kovid which is actually quite convenient for this time of year right 2021 still with covered problems before you enter the center of covid you're going to turn right where it says where it says park national villa in the furnace and come jerez with a blue sign with some tents okay so you're gonna turn right don't go into corvid and then the trail starts here where you have this sign past the restaurant and just after the wrestling you have a sign that says farzia and so this is where the trail actually starts as this walk is actually circular uh it's a short walk walk to be honest it's only seven kilometers whilst most of the other walks that we do uh it's about five or six kilometers in one direction then you have to come back for exactly the same route so i'm guessing this one's going to be a little more interesting because you don't have to see exactly the same thing on your way back here at the trevesta de varsies where you can see these little houses here um and if you're actually curious what these are these are houses to store grain okay they're built above above ground um with the rocks structured like that so that mice and rats can't get to the grain quite smart isn't it so from here you will turn left in this little grain storage you can actually see um corn corn cobs inside i hope you can get that on the camera see so that's what these little houses are for to store grain corn stuff like that how nice for those of you that aren't used to taking these walks when you hear a sign like this it just means that it's not through here okay so you've made a wrong turn go back because it's probably through the other road be sure not to miss this crossing here turn left [Music] [Music] [Music] we've reached the point that we're not really very sure where to go because um the trail suggests that way there you can see the little signs over there i hope just get a bit closer um but i'm guessing this is the gap this is the gap of um gastonia but i mean is uh it's not going to be easy to pass this without gear i think uh so we're not really sure if it's this gap here that we're supposed to be passing or if there is another gap because i mean this is some hardcore hiking here can you see that um maybe i'm just gonna go up to that ledge over there and see if i can understand if it's through here or not just a second okay so i actually managed to pass that first part and this is the second part here seems like my wife has actually found another passage okay so guys what do you think do you think i should risk it i should go for it or not because i mean it looks amazing but the problem is getting stuck here and it's just me and my wife here no gear whatsoever no ropes so if something goes wrong here how the hell do i get back up because this is this is high this is about two meters maybe a little bit more okay so my wife's gonna try underneath see if she can pass the can pass underneath then we can come back out hello hello hello where is she oh there she is there's a hand there's a hand hello where's your hat okay see see if you can cross that rock let's see if it's possible see yeah see if that rock is possible there so i can understand if we keep on going forwards or not okay so we're trying to assess here what we're going to do still because uh as you said we can hurt yourself because as you can see it's uh it's difficult we find some experienced guys here and it seems like they're going to take us through the gap so let's just see what happens we'll keep you posted probably if we don't say nothing in the next minutes or a week you got that got that [Music] [Music] [Music] now wasn't that bloody amazing fantastic fantastic so that was the gap of the mexica the fan of the cows donnie gap of california and let's take a look at this amazing view this my friends is the reward my god yeah a big thank you to our climbing friends oh my god look at this on top of the world [Music] and as what comes up must go down follow the markings all the way down [Music] [Applause] [Music] we have arrived at the caravan safe and sound unfortunately i took a little hit yesterday and another one today uh not really very serious and of course uh alexander unfortunately also fell so with this pair of tweezers here we're gonna have to take out the splinters that she has in her hands uh please i mean rate these uh walks for us okay because i would love to know your opinion uh for me i think today was the highlight of these three days so this was um uh extended weekend three days okay um and this was really the highlight i think the first day was fantastic the second day was even better than the first and this third day i mean that that gap was was something else i'm just really hoping the with the footage that i have on the gopro because it's really really dark in inside you could hardly see anything and i had the ezo cranked down because i usually have it cranked down and on post i tried to crank it up a little bit so i don't get so much grain but i should have i just didn't remember to crank it up and let's just hope i haven't ruined the footage so uh that concludes our our three-day hiking experience in jires portugal i really hope you enjoyed this video please give me some thumbs up or of course thumbs down if there are things you didn't like but most importantly of all comment below see what you thought about and i hope this video also helps you guys if you're looking for an adventure in portugal in jericho because this is completely fantastic and you will love it until next time i am john that's my beautiful wife alexander trying to get us some camping for the night take care see you next time [Music] [Music] [Applause] bye [Music] you
