this pillar here is the proof if it is vishnu temple there will be a garuda stamba if it is shiva temple there will be a dwaja stamba notice up there notice even now that bunch is there to light the lamps if it is a vishnu temple then it will be a garuda stamba but if it is a shiva temple then deepa stamba Me: now is anything of it is left? guide: no nothing is left only this is left now we are at anegundi village this was the first and foremost capital of Vijayanagara Empire many kings and royal members have been part of Vijayanagar Empire among them are Harihara raya and bukka raya Kammpanna, mudappa, marappa, prouda devaraya , immidedevaraya Veera hari hara along with all these kings the significant and the person who gave the identity to Vijayanagara empire is Sri Krishnadevaraya Sri Krishnadevaraya ruled from 1509 to 1529 those 20 years of his rule is called as the Golden era in those days for Vijayanagara Empire to rise up to that level art, literature, music agriculture for people in all sectors gave equal importance to all so for it to grow to this level his contribution is significant that is Krishnadevarayas statue one more thing of pride is Vijayanagara Empire from then till date has been showing its grandeur it has continued to prove its glory now the motivation for such strength is one of the Royal member still resides in this anegundi area their name too is Krishnadevaraya and Achutadevaraya we feel very proud because the way Krishnadevaraya used to take care of his people used give people opportunity and used to motivate people similarly the present Krishnadevarayaru for the youth here for all the people and the farmers here for all they do charity, donation , philanthropy restoration and that kingdoms awareness and restoration work he is try hard to keep retain and develop the goodness of the Vijayanagara Kingdom on behalf of all i would like the thank the royal family members from the time i started my career with this Vijayanagara empire i have been able to render my service to many people from our country as well as people of other countries in that the matter of pride is the present King Sri Krishnadevaraya and for the Mysore King Yaduveer when both visited hampi together i was privileged to render my service to them i feel pride to give my service them both the kings had come to that over there this is the main entrance to Anegundi area the mukhya dwara or Maha dwara this has been completely restored by archaeology survey of India the areas which had collapsed that has been restored now let us go inside Anegundi area in vijayanagara empire there are many Mahadwaras among many mahadwaras for each mahadwara there is a name Krishna mahadwara, Achutaya mahadwara Virupakasha mahadwara similiarly in anegundi area this is Honna mahadwara or Honna arasi Honna means gold or wealth this here is Sriranganatha temple this too is built completely as per vastu it is facing east here is utsava mantapa see here is garuda stamba sacrificial seat deepa stamba this side is the utsava manatpa at the beginning of Vijayanagara empire when they were constructing temples here they did not do much designs or carvings here they have built a very small simple and neat temple come in after the maha dwara facing the east another to the west and one to the north Me: have these pillars been brought from another place? guide: yes Me: do you have any details as to where it is from? guide, no detail is available about it generally in temples of vijayanagara empire there will be five different platforms here two plus one garbhagriha three is there This is Gagan Mahal a palace which is in Anegundi this palace is in hindu islamic style this is under restoration this large temple most of it has collapsed and only this front area remains even now Archeological survey of India is restoring it using plaster they are making statues and and what ever design is there similar design they are making Me: was it full till here? guide: no on the rear side the rest of the palace was there this is only the front portion Me: we cannot go in is it? only so much is there is it? on either side are the arches in anegundi area there are many places in it the significant one is Huchapaya matta as i have mentioned earlier in Vijaayanagara empire there were not just temples there were mattas as well in the mattas the head of the matta and for the devotees in the matta it was a center of knowledge and education this is the huchapaya matta then till date religious activities are being conducted here this has been completely renovated by ASI Nandi is there platform is there ground plus one floor this comes under the Karnataka this place has been locked and this is how they are protecting it in 14th 15 th and 16 th century the provision to go and come from Anegundi to Vijayanagara was through the coracle a little distance from here is the Vijayavittala temple this is the maha dwara facing the south from anegundi this is a big maha dwara from here towards vijayanagara if we cross the river on that bank is the vijaya vittala temple across the river is Vijayavitalla temple in anegundi area many places are there to see but his area the durga temple and the few other monuments around it but here in the last one week leopard menace has increased hence no one is permitted to go there last week after the leopard ate a person, restriction has been imposed here hence we will not be going to see these places, but next time if you want we will go now we cannot go there hence i will not be able to make video of those areas next time when i come again definitely i will cover durga temple and batheri all this is the fort wall these are the fort walls in anegundi every where you can see the fort walls like this here is another maha dwara this is Kallu agasi mahadwara this is the place to go to durgadevi temple behind that temple is the valikila or vali palace or vali cave is also there since last weeks leopard attack entry to all these places has been restricted next time when you visit i will show you these places at a place in anegundi you can see the trap laid out for the man eater leopard 18th dec 2020 the man eater leopard was trapped in the cage that on the boulder on it you can see the engraving of the vanara sene sitting on the throne the king is there the situation of this is dundubi rakshashi she would be continuously eating the vanara sena(army of monkeys) the army head comes and requests Vali that protect us from this Dundubi Rakshashi then vali and his younger brother Sugriva both together when they go to kill that dundubi rakshishi(demon) dundubi rakshishi(demon)afraid of Vali runs into a cave then vali who loves his younger brother a lot, what he does is he tells his younger brother to wait outside i will go kill dumdubi rakshishi and come when vali goes inside that cave dumdubhi rakshashis blood flows out of the cave but sugriva assuming that Vali has died Sugriva blocks that cave this is that cave which was blocked is this Me: ok it looks like a wall guide: you can see here now we are at Hanumanahalli near anegundi we will be having our food here guide manjunatha gowda has got us here usually in this place many local people come here here in local style rice, sambhar, pickle along with food there has to be fried green chilli along with that is dry chutney powder here it will not be like hotel food but like home food if some one wants to eat home food i get them here with us is future Director Murali: hi guide: My friend Murali he is a good art director Me: i saw few of his projects some of the videos that he has done it is amazing it beats mainstream movies he is doing videos in that level i am quite impressed by his work, so well he is doing what ever is required to do be done to develop his project that i am doing his channel link i will put in the description you can check it thank you, i am happy to meet you today we are happy to meet a great person because we are collaborating all should try to visit hampi once in a life time to get this great experience the concept of his project is also very nice through his project directly or indirectly he is not only hampi, but our karnataka and our country anegundi and all he plans to promote his project is about promoting all these places the name of his movie is Murali: My movie name is I love my country the message in the movie is for every one to love their country movie is i love my country check it out Guide: i love my friends and i love my food Me: very true as he said i am loving my food it is so good i am thanking Manjunatha gowdru once again for introducing good food in this trip im enjoying the food now our guide has suggested this place for the special anegundi soda at Iranna cooldrinks in Annegundi if you need any refreshments for many years he has the experiences of making this soda why this soda is special is this is our olden days goli soda in this bottle the marble is placed here we press it like this then we drink this is the system used since this is flavoured for my clients i get them here to drink it refresh point for every trip which ever person comes Me: is this home made soda? Guide: yes traditional goli soda they have shifted the shop to this place this is the shop shifted to the new location if you come here do not forget to drink Irannas soda for water distribution system they have done various canals they have also constructed few lakes and ponds and diverting the river they have done few canals as well along with that here in Vijayanagara empire here we can see stone canals one is near Vijaya vitalla temple near Purandara mantapa as a connecting bridge between vijayanagara and anegundi this stone bridge was there that has collapsed in the anegundi area you will find another stone bridge along with this being the bridge connecting to Vijayanagara this is also a aqueduct system this has been done for the water distribution system this was done for people to go from one place to another the stone bridge for people as well as for water distribution even before the starting of Vijaynagara Empire tungabhadra river was a big river a river which flows widely that river used to flow next to the virupaksha temple in 1330 when vijayanagara empire was established after establishment, inside that temple during excess rainfall so that water should not enter the temple for that fort wall was built and the water has been diverted some times rains will be moderate at times it will be excess due to excess rainfall when the water level increases it takes a diversion here this is known as Hanumana selu or Hanumana Harihara generally during normal rainfall river water does not come here in rainy season when water level increases when the water increases there it gets diverted this side that was flows though this this comes and joins again near Vijaya vitalla temple such a beautiful plan this is this is not the main river when water level rises that water comes here as i mentioned earlier in Vijayangara Empire walls have been built generally wall means it will be 9 inches or 16 inches wall but in those days approximately such wide walls almost more than 2 meters width to be precise from here to here is 2 meters and then another 1 meter almost 3 meter wide walls notice the size of the stone each one is almost 3 and an half feet long using such big stones they have built this bridge due to which no matter how heavy it rains this will not collapse you may ask then why did the rest of it fall? for 300 years no one was here during that time plants and trees grew above it when its climbers and roots grew inside it it started shifting the stones from its original place then it expanded and fell off other than this reason, be it rain or due to water this damage was not done anegundis important places are Anjanadri betta, Sri krishna devaraya samadhi Nava brindavana, pampa sarovara Chintamani temple i have made individual videos of all these places i will include the link of all these videos in the description box we are now near anegundis sanapura village Sanapura lake but this lake generally surrounded by mountains and hills is this big lake in this lake water gets collected along with the collection of water from the mountains here in 1952 our tungabhadra river Dam construction was started in 1958 it was completed after that they have made three lakes here one on the right bank and left bank along with a power canal the ones on the right and left side they from different directions for drinking water purpose for all work and to serve all the agricultural needs these canals have been made the tungabadra river that comes out of the dam from there it continues and in this large area the water gets stored after it is stored notice the canal there from there it exists again where water gets stored and from there it flows ahead that becomes like a lake in those times it was a large lake the canal has been connected to the lake and again continues through it hence this has become a tourist hot spot beautiful view, all sides you can see if you come in the morning or evening the view is excellent different variety of birds come here boating is also there this is a beautiful view Sanapura lake here especially for adventurers rock climbing cliff jumping here is a rock climber team as well they have proper teams here they have the floor bed rock climbing shoes are there hooks are there experts are there they keep conducting these events we do conduct various competitions such as rock climbing bicycle ride, bullock cart along with our culture and tradition here are the adventures as much as it is possible , we do it here like in every place of Hampi here to you can see the Balancing rock see how it is placed one above the other notice there there is a dam for agricultural purpose there is a small canal from here the water exists there but just now i got a thought all these things when we purchase has value after using it, it has no value all these companies what waste they create these companies are directly responsible for these pollution they charge so much, if it is wafers or gutka or water bottle or even a wine shop or what ever the product after making that product after selling that product it is used and thrown there itself its meaning is that it is waste it is no more of use to us so when selling it collect more tax on it or increase two more rupees to the product the used five bottles or those five wrappers if they get it and give it back to the sale person if they offer a gift in return of it people after use will not throw it again after keeping it safely we will return it if not till where we will not pay the price for the goods used till then such waste will keep coming back if all departments before granting permission for all the used things which are thrown outside those companies are directly responsible for that only when those companies get punished such disasters will all stop so this our people should uphold if they get the used items and put it in the bins or put it in recycle space or even the companies can reuse it generally such beer bottles when we were small if we return 1 bottle they used to pay us rupee to search for such bottles there were more people but now since companies do not take it back even the people who search for it have decreased so feeling that there is no point returning it people tend to break it and throw it if these companies charge extra if people start retuning it in return if they are offered gift or other offers then people there is a possibility that people will take it along with them and return it if the government takes corrective action at the earliest then such disasters can be avoided i have been coming here since many years then tourists used to throw things and go so my friends the boatmen who are here they and those of Hampi society where all it was possible there all when we created awareness our friends group which we have done in this circle of Hampi and anegundi our thing, our Hampi, our place, our future keeping this concept al those Friends through this contributed these bins as many places as possible this has been places since then the waste has decreased, everything is not possible every thing government cannot do and everything people cannot do we are in this place and only by our caution and protection for the future generation to save things we all need to join hands together we have to make our attempt to keep our surrounding clean
